Inclusive Gallery project - Competition

Winners of 2019 call

The jury of the Inclusive Gallery project whose members are: Dragana Kuprešanin, Konstantin Đuričković and Dejan Jankov, decided to award two equal prizes to the following artists:

  • Vanja Novakovic
  • Tanja Valenćik / Asja Komadina

Jury explanation:

Vanja Novakovic – Art Elements

The author placed the project proposal in an adequate initial, structural framework which, thanks to the thoughtful UI/UE application design, increases the availability of the content to the public with disabilities. The audience with limited visual capacities gets the opportunity for better insight into the given information through elaborating color relationships, placed in the correlation of positive and negative space of the screen. The interactive approach to the application allows users to independently determine time frames for reading the image. Thus, the author affirms the users with disabilities personal development. Sound descriptions of the screen image and content, complete the simplified transitions of the animated elements of the image and make the presented content clear, legible and perceived with full understanding.

Tanja Valenćik / Asja Komadina

The project proposal of the author Valenćik / Komadina successfully translates the topic of the human-nature relationship into the field of visual dynamic images. The highest quality of the image is achieved through translating a documentary film sequence into an animation frame-sequence and reducing it to contrasting relationships. Regardless of the lack of intention towards inclusiveness in the work, this proposal fully (visually) translates the image into reduced art and graphic processing, and makes it accessible to the audience with reduced visual capacity.
