Project leader of the Inclusive Gallery project
Project leader of the Inclusive Gallery project;
Elementary and Secondary Boarding School “Milan Petrović” announces:
Public invitation for participation in the competition for an accessible work of art
We invite artists and students of art faculties, for whom this topic is a challenge, to participate in the Award competition for accessible works of art in the Inclusive Gallery project, and to keep in mind all people, including those:
- who cannot see, but can touch and can smell,
- who cannot hear but feel vibrations,
- who understand when it is explained to them,
- who rejoice when given the opportunity,
- whose life becomes fulfilled through art…
Accessible art allows direct communication with the audience.
Accessible art meets all the senses.
Accessible art can be seen, listened to, touched, smelled, felt, sensed…
Accessible art is a process that involves everyone who is willing to get involved, with more or less knowledge and skills.
We suggest that artists first have a dialogue with people with disabilities and find out their needs and desires, as well as the ways to make them happen. Obstacles to inclusion are not only architectural, but also sensory, intellectual, emotional and socio-cultural in its nature.

The Call will be open from July 15th to October 15th 2018. Afterwards, “Milan Petrović” School’s Accessibility Team and the Art Jury will choose the winners.
